Lifelong Friends

There are people in our lives that come and go.  Some you meet only once, others you get to know before they disappear and are forgotten about.  Most people you meet can be classed as acquaintances whilst others turn out to be your worst enemy but once in a lifetime you meet a person that will be your lifelong friend.  No matter the distance, no matter the time once re-united it's like you have never been apart.

I was sat there today chatting to my best ever friend and it was if the years had melted away.  We have met up four times in the last 10 years yet we are as comfortable now as we were back then.  The lovely thing is we both now have daughters of the same age that get on like a house on fire and it's like watching history repeat itself.

My biggest regret is the years that have past were we lost contact.  We never argued or fell out we just drifted apart and our lives moved in different directions and to different places.  Ironically we met up in the local supermarket and the rest is history.

Chatting today about the good old days I had forgotten how much trouble we got into and how much fun we had. Buying castaways and diamond white from the off licence on a Saturday night to drink with no parents around before getting rid of the evidence in the bin at the bus stop. Haha good times! The first ever girlie holiday together.  That was absolute madness and the photographs we have are awful.  Did we really dress like that? My perm has got to be the worst ever.  Still I remember those days as some as the best ever.

So Linz I know you read this, haha.  We must never lose contact again and when we are older and greyer we'll look at the photos again and see if they are still as funny. Love ya Honey!

Good Moods - Bad Moods

Why is it you wake up in a morning with a spring in your step and a smile on your face, the world is a happy place and you don't have a care in the world. When "bang" in a split second just one person instantly changes that mood and you are instantly transported into that black place.

You instantly see red and want to scream and shout at the top of your voice.  Storm around the house banging doors and throwing things around the room.  Now I had two choices I could either let this person win and stay in my bad mood or brush it off, smile and move on.

What did I do? Switched the radio on full blast, put on my fave CD and sang at the top of my voice whilst cleaning the house.  The neighbours weren't impressed but, oh well.  Result! Back to good mood.

Best Job in the World

Being a mum is probably the hardest job in the world.. I work the longest hours.  My days start around 5.30am and finish about 9pm.  I have to multi-task constantly to get the washing done, the ironing, the cooking, the pots, the housework, whilst doing that I referee the arguments, split up full on fights and nurse the bruises better. Then there are the tantrums, the strops and the tears to deal with.  Before bath time followed by story time and at last bedtime.  Day done.  Not quite.  There are still the toys to put away and all the half finished tasks left to complete.  Eventually flop onto the sofa with a well earned coffee.  I truly do go to work, Yes I work as well, for a rest.

We had such a great day today.  A day of laughter and fun without a care in the world.  We didn't have one strop, one tear or the hint of a kick off.  Just smiling faces.  It was definately a day to be silly.  The biggest laugh probably came when we went on the barrel water ride.  Who get the soggy bum off the very wet seat? Me.  Who was the protector when the water squirted? Me.  Good old mum got the soaking.  hahaha.  I came off looking like a drowned rat and I didn't even want to go on the ride, but who cares.  We created our memories and will look back on this day and smile.

Would I change my Job? Not a chance. I have the best job in the world. When those little faces look at you and say, "Mummy, I love you.  I have had the best time." that is all the payment I ever need.

Guest Blogger

It has been a really productive weekend this weekend. With the kids away I got cracking and I have almost completed my Proofreading assignment 1.  It just needs a final check and that is good to go.

I have also sent off four readers letter with accompanying photos, written and sent off a travel article and  started drafting a further article.  There has been steam coming from keyboard.

Check out this link http://www.writersbureau.com/blog/ I am guest blogger on the writers bureau blog this week.

New Look Blog

Two postings in one day is a record for me.  You might all notice a few little changes including the name.  New Beginnings was not really appropriate any more as that was well over a year ago and things have moved on drastically now.

Let me know what you think.
Finally kids are in bed.  Cbeebies is switched off and the toys have been put away.  aaahhh, Time for me at last. It's been a long day.

I got my 6th assignment back this morning and was so pleased with the comments I received.  I must admit I have been slacking a bit these last few months but now I feel revved up and raring to go again. I have a much needed child free weekend this weekend so with any luck I should be able to settle down and get something down on paper.

One of my problems is that there is so much that I want to write about that I am unable to focus for anything on any particular project.  I kind of whizz from this to that to the other leaving a trail of destruction behind me and just end up with steam coming out of my ears.

I am going to go and write myself of lists of tasks to achieve this weekend and hopefully I might be able to restore some inner calm and get on with the job at hand.  Me? Calm? Ha, that will be the day.

Kerching!

Another cheque in the post. A letter has been published in That's Life magazine.  The money is slowly starting to come my way.  So, what next?  Now I need to aim to get an article published.  In the meantime I can feel a few more letters being written. This could well be a nice little earner whilst I work my way to bigger things.

It really goes to show how long these things can take.  I sent these letters off in April and I had written them off as a bad job.   Now four months later here they are in well known weeklie mgazines.

Little Squeakers

I would just like to introduce you to the two newest members of my family.  Lily and Rosie (Or possibly Tickles).  My daughter is undecided and keeps changing the name.

They are currently residing in my living room.  I have had guinea pigs before and I love them to be house pets.  You really get to know their little personalities and they become part of the family.  Already Lily is more outgoing.  She is the one that is brave enough to stick her nose out of the hay and see what is going on.  Rosie/Tickles is very shy and has rarely been seen.  They are still going through the settling in process.  I'm sure she'll come out of her shell soon enough.

Last night they had a little mad half an hour chasing each other around the cage and chattering away to each other.  They were so funny to watch.   Tonight they were having a little cuddle and Rosie/Tickles did a really big wee on my new living room carpet.  I was not impressed.  The kids on the other hand found it hilarious.  Charlie thinks that they need to wear nappies until they are big enough to go on the potty.

I will no doubt be able to regale you with all their funny little antics and will keep you informed of their progress.
